Jazmarae is a powerful vocalist and an earnest songwriter. Coming from a long line of successful jazz players, she has developed a soulful sound all her own that roots her diverse background in a melancholy blend of jazz, blues, and pop influences. Jazmarae plants herself firmly in front of her talented band of guitars, keys, drums, and vocal harmonies, proclaiming confidently the ownership of her life experiences and expelling them atop of grooves that grab the audience until the rush of their release.
A talented organizer and promoter, Jazmarae has put on successful shows and performed at music venues internationally including Seattle’s Triple Door, New York City’s Silvana, Rotterdam’s BIRD, Berlin’s Radio Eins, and Rome’s Yellow Bar.
She has shown her musical versatility with a wide variety of acts and in many different styles – ranging from singing jazz with the NATO band in Italy to performing as a multi-instrumentalist in the electronic indie pop duo, SØLTREE. She has shared memorable stages with Allen Stone, Mr. Sipp, Ruby Wilson, and Leroy Jones; has recorded on albums with the National Park’s Arrowhead Jazz Band and has played at numerous festivals including Italy's Tuscia In Jazz Festival, St. Louis, Missouri's Blues at the Arch, Washington State’s Chinook Fest, and New Orleans French Quarter Fest.
Over the past few years Jazmarae has been living in New Orleans, Louisiana. During her residency in the city she has had the pleasure of working with music producer Andrew Elmo Price of Native Swing Studios on her upcoming album, “Start Over,” set to be released March 28th 2019. The two singles off of the album, “Don’t Stop,” and “Sparks Fly,” are currently available on all digital streaming platforms.
